I came across this great photo memory - a very pro

I came across this great photo memory - a very proud Learn With Less® moment with my then 5-year old who was Bluey-obsessed.

He saved up for months and got a Bluey play set… but check out what’s even better:

➡️📦The perfect cardboard storage shed!!

This kid took the animal figurines and set up the cardboard box pieces so that they, themselves, became at least as important as the purchased playset.

This is such a great example of the way we assign meaning and importance to “toys,” & their value both as developmental tools and as inherently “fun.”

Don’t forget the magic in the everyday, mundane objects.

There’s extraordinary possibility in the ordinary items around you.

Everyday objects and everyday routines are full of potential learning, play, & moments of connection.

Sometimes it’s up to us as adults to either set up the opportunity for wonder & meaning making, or to simply get out of the way!

💡 The idea that there’s an inherent value in an object classified as an “educational toy” is, quite frankly, a delusion.

🤯 The Emperor has no toys, folks!

♥️ You already have the resources to give young children the “right” stimulation, play, & interaction to thrive

(Whether or not your closet is bursting at the seams).
